The Ganges With Sue Perkins. (Spoiler Alert)

How has such an appalling excuse for a TV programme made it on to BBC1. Let's see, Bake Off was a success so anything with Sue Perkins must be good, not. This is what I have always called a vanity project. Sue fancies a trip to India, now, how do I get somebody to pay for it. I know, the BBC are mugs, they can pay. After 25 minutes of total self serving crud I can't bear another second.

I've always liked Sue Perkins...and love her "travelogues".

A great programme spoiled by the presenter Sue Perkins no charisma and definitely not funny all about her watched it but won’t continue no match for the likes of Michael Palin etc.

Although a good comedian she's not cut out for this type of program, leave it to the people that can Sue.

i really enjoyed it, i thought the scenery was incredible and its intersting/sad to see how tourism is changing the area in both good and bad ways.

I like Sue Perkins and when she was struggling to talk about her Dad dying and how coming on the trip has given her a chance to give into her grief, well it made me cry

I didnt see the programme. Im not a fan of hers either and after recently reading her book "Spectacles" I like her even less.

Just been talking to a friend who says he's read good reports today of The Ganges so I'll watch it now I think.

I love Docs, and this one as well, and when I see some of the poverty, I think how lucky I am to have been born here.

How do they bathe & drink the water of the Ganges, with human & animal sewage, remains of people etc?

Yes I've watched it now and enjoyed it Naomi.
I'm obviously not seeing what Sam's seeing; I think she's a lovely bright intelligent lady. And polite.
Going back to Maestro, she was the only one of the contestants who thanked the orchestra after rehearsals. That seems typical of her.
Anyway, I can't stand Stephen Fry when everyone else seems to adore him.

I agree...........I watched about 10 mins of this daft program and gave up. I have just finished a marvelous book about the Ganges......."Slowly down the Ganges" By Eric Newby.

It was published in the 60's and its miles better than anything this tiresome program could produce.

To be honest, I am getting a tad fed up with TV companies sending minor celebrities around the world, pretending to be journalists.
