Don't worry nalit. I expect few on here realize the implication when it is a Trident operation . As you and I know Trident are a specialist unit of the Met who handle only the most serious gun, gang, drugs, knife crime in London. Luckily they also run a very robust and efficient witness protection program specifically for situations such as this.
The question is about withdrawing a statement; it could be about 'anything' and the procedure is the same.
Sam77 now knows how to do this and will be advised of the options/consequences, etc....etc.... of her doing so at the time.
Particularly by the professional people dealing with this matter.
Had to admit EDDIE, I had to google trident as it wasn't something that I was too familiar with, though I'd heard about it. (guns, gangs, drugs not really my scene. Knives a different matter lol) BUT I just don't understand the sarcasm when someone on here is trying to help another.
AB actually tells you not to take advice on here in place of proper advice from a lawyer, in many cases I just tell people to get a lawyer.
In this case a lawyer would have said exactly the same, particularly the advice to use the witness protection scheme. But it would have taken a lot more time to consult a lawyer.
any Trident case would not permit a withdrawl of statement and one would most likely find themselves in protective custody if such concerns were expressed... just my opinion..for what it's worth...
