Hi Everyone, can anyone give me advice regarding wills. My dad died a while ago and the executor of the will refused to action the will. I am upset because I have no idea what my dads wishes were after his death. I had a perfectly good relationship with my dad before his death. Thanks in advance.

executor is obliged to execute the will... speak to a solicitor
if the will has been registered with Deeds in Scottish record office a copy is available..but most wills are not... if this person does not want to act as executor there is a process for you to become executor..my OH did this...it involves letters of decliniture and an application through court... you need really to discuss this with your dad's solicitor if you know who that was ?
Agree with MM - wills are public documents in Scotland.
only if registered Maggie..
I worked in the deeds/chancery section of Records and some of the wills were hilarious...

Many thanks everyone. I don't think it went for confirmation because of it being a small estate. I do wish I could just read it.
