I am a residuary beneficiary to a relative's will and have finally received my share of the estate.
The executor has consistently ignored any requests for information about the value of the estate (or anything else) during the last 18 months. I have asked by text (as we are no longer on speaking terms) for a copy of the estate accounts from the executor which I believe is my legal right . So far the executor has not responded. I now intend to make a formal request in writing. My question is this - how long should I give the executor to respond before getting a solicitor and applying to the Probate Registry for an inventory and account order ? I really need to resolve this as it is causing my partner and I a lot of stress. TIA

Ask the Probate Office how long they would expect you to give the executor before contacting them. Their helpline number is 0300 123 1072 and that is from the probate application form.
