You may recall my wife's bladder pain. At last she has had the initial consult with the specialist and he has decided he needs another scan and a camera in her bladder, which she is not looking forward to. He has prescribed my wife Mirabegron to help with the urgency and frequency of urination but he tells her it could take some weeks to be properly effective.

He suspects it is interstitial cystitis but as the initial scan showed 'fullness' on the left hand side of her bladder (whatever that means) he wants to rule everything else out. So once again it is a matter of waiting.

He does seem like a nice chap, at least he listened. He asked if she abuses ketamine and kept a serious face (she doesn't).

I promised you an update.

Thanks barry.......much appreciated.

The diagnosis if Interstitial Cystitis seems appropriate.

The "fullness of the left side of the bladder" is of concern and needs further investigation by camera (Cystoscopy).

Thanks for the update barry.

Thanks, Sqad. She is dreading the cystoscopy, she could hardly bear the catheter after an operation some years ago. Still, sooner the better.
I’m so sorry your wife has to go through some unpleasant procedures to help find out what’s going on.
My similar (but different) problem seems to have been sorted by oestrogen pessaries.
Please give Mrs Barry my best wishes, I know only too well how distressing this all can be x
Cystoscopy is simple and tell her not to worry .I have had one and is not a problem .
