if you buy something from ebay and it turns out to be stolen can you be charged with receiving stolen goods

Ebay rules say Stolen goods are not allowed to be listed on Ebays site, So it would be impossible to buy anything stolen on Ebay.
do you think, Thaibus, that a thief might not be too bothered about Ebay rules?

I think Thaibus was meaning that you are covered by the fact it states clearly you cant sell stolen items so therefore you have no grounds to suspect otherwise. Of course, we live in the real world and I would expect 5% of goods sold on ebay are not ligit!
