if someones goes bankrupt living with their partner then they move out but continue to use her address then ask her for how much she earns - does that make her linked to his debt?? in other words will she be brought down with him???

Unless she has a joint debt with him which is part of the bankruptcy then no she doesnt have to give him these details.

There are no joint debts and its only rented place - she was just concerned as they have requested her annual income (appently something to do with the re-payments side of it for him??) just dont want her to pay for his mess ups

If he's actually bankrupt now you can search here...http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/eiir/IIRNameSearc hMapIE.asp. I'd suggest leaving the court and office as they are for a wider search.

This will give you the details of his insolvency practitioner and I would suggest she speaks to them if she has any uncertaintly.

Otherwise she could try the local Citizen's Advice Bureau (http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/).

Thank you so much, she has told him she wants him to change the address immediatly and checking that she is not part of it, looks like shes ok but you know - gotta look out for you mates
