During the bad weather yesterday 3 panels of my fence (on the righthand side of my property) where blown down, I was under the impression that it is our neighbours responsibility to repair the fence. Could anyone confirm who is responsible for the fence? my neighbour came round last night and was extremely aggressive and using foul language. We both have dogs so I need the fence repairing as soon as possible, Can anyone please help me soon!!!

you need to look at your deeds. There is no automatic "left hand side is yours/theirs" When we bought this house on the plans that came from the solicitors, our fence was clearly marked (it happens to be in the right hand side as you are looking out of the back door)

also if you put "fence" into the search box you will get more advice. It seems like my first post might not have been right
Also contact insurance co. Let it do the investigating. That's what you pay for, and taking matters into your own hands might invalidate insurance even if you have a valid claim against neighbour.
Unfortunately insurance doesn't cover fences. A few companies offer garden insurance that does for an extra premium, but they are the exception.

It would probably cover legal expenses if it came to that, but not repair of the fence.
Every house that we have owned 15 at last count the fence/wall on the right looking out of the house at the rear belonged to us.
I have exactly the same problem - my right side fence in back garden is leaning right over into my garden. I have the 'good' side and so dont know who pays for the repair or do I ask my neighbour to share the cost?
I own the left hand side looking out from my house and the right hand side is party - joint.

So the only way to know for sure is to look at the deeds.

first look on your deeds who's fence it is, T on your side. deed, it is yours. If it is you replace it and might be able to claim it back from your insurence. If is your nabour's, write to him give him 7 days to replace it. if no joy, you replace it an send him the bill. but it must be igsectly where it was. take some photos before and after you have replaced them. good luck. if he is abusive you must call the police.
