Trevor Hardy was born in Providence street Collyhurst 1946. The family moved to Newton Heath sometime in the 50s. i used to play with him when i was about 6 or 7 .
One of the poor girls who was murdered was found at the back of the Spread Eagle on Rochdale road now demolished the landlord at the time Pat Vesey who found the body i remember reading about it in the Manchester evening news at the time .I dont know if he is still in prison or not . there is not much written about the case which is unusual seeing he was a serial killer.

The surname of the girl found murdered behind the Spread Eagle pub on Rochdale Rd. was Leyden, I think the murder took place over the Christmas holiday. I thought that the investigation at the time failed to link Hardy with the Leyden killing. Hardy lived in Percival street, which is off Grimshaw lane, Newton Heath, and was constantly on the wrong side of the law.

For quite a while I have looked for information regarding Lesley and Wanda. I was 14 when Lesley was killed. I went to primary school with her, and I last saw her at Belle Vue near the speedway track. My Sister was a barmaid at the Liberal club , up kenyon lane and was followed/ chased by a man days/ weeks before Wanda was killed. (My parents owned the hadware shop near Joyce St). She was lucky. My heart goes out to Lesleys family. I still have a school photo from B C Primary with lesley standing tall.
If lesleys Mum would like a copy i can organise. I am now in Australia.

I last saw her at Belle Vue just weeks before her death. She was lovely girl. A couple of weeks before Wanda was killed my sister, who was a barmaid at th Liberal Club on Kenyon Lane was chased by a man all the way to the corner of Joyce St. We often wondered if it was the same man. I am now 47 living the past 28 yrs in Australia. I send my best wishes to Lesleys family, especially at this time of year.

I met Lesley in the spring of 1974 when we were both working for the catering at Belle Vue.She used to sell the ice cream in the yellow cabins in the zoo.My job was to stock up the cabins from the main freezers at Kings Hall.Thats how i met her.We got on great right from the start and we went out with each other over the summer as only 15 and 16 year olds did at that special time working in that magical place "Belle Vue". From the moment we met she was calling herself Lesley and i still have a photo booth picture of me and her and at the time she was wearing one of those badges you could buy with your name on ,and hers read "Lesley".She was a tall beautiful looking girl,a pleasure to be with and i am so proud to have known her. She left for a time but came back in autumn,working on the speedway and then at the xmas circus in Kings Hall and thats where i last saw her .I think it was BoxingDay,i'm not sure.We were due to work together in the January,but sadly never did.I will never forget Janet Lesley Stewart and her beautiful smile,Godbless her.

when sharon mossoph was killed we lived in failsworth. my aunt knew the mossoph family. i will ring her tomorrow (she now live in Wales) and try and find out what i knowabout it. i will then post what i know (but will not post anything insensitive to the family).

Im ashamed to admit that Trevor Hardy considered himself to be a friend of mine from school age upto our mid twenties before he started his murderous ways & I left for Australia.I also knew his brother Billy who was a good mate of mine & a really nice bloke completely the opposite of Trevor .In fact his whole family are nice people .He was just the bad apple.My
heartfelt sorrow to all his victims families .

Hi Marko i I can assure you Hardy a brother Billy who died not to long ago,He also has a older sister & younger brother whom I wont mention by name for obvious reasons.Billy attended a welcome home party I held in Gib-pub on grimshaw lane in 1987 & as I stated was a good mate (R.I.P)

had an interest in this case for years, only because my parents talked of this animal, trevor hardy was in borstal with my dad and later my father lived oppostie him in percival st, my mother lived in lancashire st and attended st marys school , trevor hardy was an animal who raped an elderly lady who owned a shop on grimshaw lane, he often bullied girls and was expelled from school for doing so,my mother still recalls him shouting bad things to her when she was a young girl, i write this for info for people cause not much as been wrote about him , full respect to victims famils.

I worked at a printers in failsworth when the murders took place, my mate from work found the body of Sharon Mossoph on his way to work, she was in the rochdale canal locks naked with a ligature around her neck, I remember it was headlines in the MEN, he had murdered her the night before' strangled her and bit off her nipple, he returned to canal and swam to the body to try and scratch off his teeth marks to avoid being caught. I lived in newton heath and everyone was terrified of the 'Psyco'. Lots of tales of his crimes are still talked about by people who knew of him, ie burglary, evading police arrest, drinking, fighting, GBH, stabbings sexual assaults the list goes on.
