They bludgeoned her to death with a paving stone and bit her nipple to make it seem sexually motivated. I was naturally horrified and her murder has haunted me for a long time. Wanda was a really smart and athletic girl - a karate expert, as well. like her older sister, Christine. When they announced Hardy as the murderer I was doubly shocked as I remember he used to live door to an ex-boyfriend of mine. I never saw the guy, but my ex talked frequently about his "weird" neighbour. I think he was dark haired and not bad looking if I recall from the Manchester Evening news photos. I've lived in the USA since 1982 btw
I'm not sure of the year. I know it was summer time and I was about 17 so it had to have been 73.
She was found on some derelict ground on Lightbowne Road near its junction at Thorpe Road and Church Street in Moston, not too far from where she (and I) lived. It was terrible how the police notified her father about her death. When they went to his door the dad said "I'm going to kill her for staying out all night" and the cops said "You won't have to - someone already did" - that was in the newspaper the day after she was murdered. Btw, she was into judo, not karate, as I mis-mentioned earlier.

trevor joseph hardy murdered my daughter Janet Lesley Stewart on New Year's Eve 1974. He also murdered Wanda Skala and Sharon Mossoph. The years do not dull our pain and if a book has been written terryc101 we too would like to know. We hope Hardy is still rotting in Wakefield Prison but if he has been released then I do not want to know. God Bless my Lesley.

I was a friend of Sharon Mossoph's family. she was a great girl, really sweet and friendly. I've been trying to get in touch with her family for years if anyone knows of their whereabouts? I've also tried to find any information about the Trevor Hardy case, but strangely enough there is not a thing about him, even though he was considered as a serial killer!
