Redundancy

Hi,

I recently got told i was in risk of being made redundant and on hearing this news got myself another job. During the redundancy meetings i asked could i process my redundancy before i start my new job at the end of the month and they told me it wouldnt be done in time so i handed in my notice. Now im leaving at the end of the month and everyone is being made redundant the same day and getting a pay out. Its like i was lied too. Is this just tough luck or could i still ask to process my redundancy? Im meant to be leaving next week.
