I work in a Residential home and have my N.V.Q.2 in Health and Social Care. I and two others (also have the same) would like to do our 3. We have all been told we can't get funding but will do. What I want to know is can you do your 3 without having done your 2 first ? The reason I ask this is because there are several carers doing their 3 having never done their 2. We have people working in a Senior position (Senior Carers) who have never done an N.V.Q. what so ever. I do medication and I always understood you had to have gained your 2 and were doing your 3 before you could do so. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You don't need to have done a Level 2 first:

Applicants should already be working as a senior healthcare worker or have satisfactory lengths of experience in care where, in their current employment, there are opportunities for acting as a team co-ordinator.
No formal qualification required, it is an advantage if delegates have achieved Level 2 in Care
