I have been with N power over a year now after changing from British Gas I have allways paid by Direct debit N power reads my meter at regular intervals and inform my Bank what I have to pay they inform me regular if My gas is Higher or lower and tell me what I must pay monthly and they inform my bank and the Bank adjusts the direct debit My last statement from N power is credit �28.oo then I had a big shock with another Statement showing I owed �700.00 and being Im a seventy two year old pensioner who has blood pressure and crippled after three strokes you can imagine the shock of all this I have tried to resolve this with Npower and have an ongoing complaint with them but they feel I must pay but dont give me the reason why I owe this disgusting bill, have I any case for this being their fault only I cant see that I owe this Bill where can I go now to try to resolve this I cant change Back to british gas with this outstanding debt I cant pay it who can resolve this I really dont know what to do it is making me ill ,

You need to make a formal complaint to NPower. There should be info on the back of their bill telling you how to do it, or lok at their website. Do it in writing, send recorded delivery, keep a copy. If you cannot resolve it with NPower you can go to the Energy Supply Ombudsman or to Energywatch (see their websites.)
Does your local radio station have a consumer programme? If so give them a ring, our local radio often sorts out this type of problem. Or you could take relevant meter readings and bill to the CAB who may help you or you could contact Age Concern who have people who may help.
