Charges of Fraud and Shoplifting

Can anyone tell me what conviction a person would get if charged with shoplifting and fraud? Would it be a fine or custodial sentence? How reliable is CCTV evidence in court? Thanx in advance for any help you can give.

Is this a first offence? What type of fraud - was you using a stolen/cloned credit card?

What did you shoplift - life's necessities such as food, or 'luxury' items?

the fraud was returning goods to obtain a credit voucher and when signing for the credit voucher signing a different name. the shoplifting was clothing that was going to be returned to get another credit voucher.

a bit more sophisticated than your average shoplifter. The extent to which CCTV is relied on depends largely on its quality.
Sentence will depend largely on whether you have a history of offending and the value of the items. Likely penalty is a community based order - unpaid work or similar

sadly to say I did the same thing as you did.Iwas caught for shoplifting the other day and it was my first offense. I was cautioned and the record will stay on my file for 5 years. I tell u now to stop it while youre not being caught as its very embarrasing and it gives you alot of stress. im not usually a shoplifter but I did that stupid thing taht day which I will regret for life.

were you caught shoplifting?is this your first offense?based on experience that if iths your first offence you will only be cautioned and wont be charge.wre you caught doing the FRAUD thing?in what way were you caught ? because we have got the right to return items to shop without receipt if you lost the receipt but of course you will have it in voucher as returned.

i have also been arrested for fraud i was going through alot of debt and a few more problems and awaiting what will happen yet, i dont think i will be able to hack it in prison, it is my first offence and definatley my last, im really scared about what will happen does anyone know what could happen to me???
