My wife was hit from behind in april by a van whilst driving. She suffered from a pulled muscle to the neck and found it hard to do household chores for a week or two. The injuries were minor and has recovered quickly. We have been offered 1000 pounds otherwise the case will go to court. I was wondering if this is a respectable amount as I think the solicitors just want to settle this case quickly. Thanks!!

1000 sounds about right. Going to court can be stressful - what does your own solicitor advise?

Is this the first offer?
you can always try and negotiate, my husband is looking at a possible 1700 - 1900 but more than that will only be awarded if there are longer ongoing problems, she can have added stress and feeling nervous in a car now. They won't just go to court straight away as there are cost involved but they will try and settle at the first offer. You have nothing to lose by trying.

We were offered 500 pounds at first but we demanded 1500 then 1200 and then 1015. The solicitor says we should settle at 1000. Thanks for your posts anyway.
