Did you / will you find out if it's a boy or a girlie?

I had my 20 week scan today, we hoped to find out whether it be boy or girl, but s/he's obviously shy because they had they legs closed and wouldn't let us peep. Sonographer was a bit snotty about it, and now I will have to wait until it's born to find out! Agh!
The good news is everything is fine he/she/it is growing well, has all it's fingers and toes, everything is in the right place and I got to see it's little feet! So I'm chuffed to bits!
I was so convinced it was a little boy and just wanted to find out either way though. Nevermind, fate took the decision out of my hands I guess ;-)
Soooooo, are any of you ladies going to be finding out, or have you found out already, or did you choose not to, or did you find out by accident?

At the time i was really upset that they wouldnt tell me but like you i had to wait. When he was born and they told me it was a boy i was so pleased i hadnt known, even though i'd thought that it was a boy it was still so nice to have a surprise. With my next one i really dont want to know before its born!
hi,im going for my 20wks scan on the 12/12/07 and i cant wait to ask what im having, as ive convinced myself that im having a girl.ive even picked the pink moses basket that i want.my husband tells me to stop incase im wrong but i just cant help myself!!!if im having a boy though does not matter really as long as its healthy(i allready have one of each!!)
I had a scan at 18 weeks and the sonographer wouldnt tell me either but she said it was hospital policy in case they got it wrong, apparently there have been cases were parents have sued the health board because they told the wrong sex.
But I know I am having a girl as this was confirmed by my amnio results.

Im 26 weeks now, blimey that suddenly seems far along! I found out at 22 weeks I was having another girl but I knew I was and had been telling people I had the feeling it was a girl even though I had originally thought it was a boy. I had picked out the silver aeroplane range from mothercare !!! lol
Although I have had my two routine scans now, I will get another chance to see baby again before its born because Im having a 4d scan in December. Same day as angel75 actually lol
Have you any preference as to what you want natalie?
And while Im here, when is/was your birthday? lol

My Birthday Psy? It was 9th November.
I have no preferences at all, I guess because it's my first, but am utterly convinced it is a boy; I don't want to spend the next 5 months referring to "he" if it's a little girl, but I am sure she won't mind :-)
I am pleased to know everything is where it should be and just took it as a sign that I was meant to wait!

I found out a couple of weeks ago that im having a boy. To be honest i was pretty sure of this anyway and just wanted confirmation! Im over the moon and have bought a few trendy outfits and some blue bits for the nursery.
You could always have a 4D scan if you really want to know, i dont think i could go the full 9 months not knowing!

Thanks Roomster, I don't really want a 4d scan as I want to wait to see it's face and things until it's born! Weird I know, even though I want to know it's sex. I think I will just accept that I wasn't meant to find out. Either that or it is a eunuch as my friend, kindly pointed out. Charming.
Sooooo jealous that you get to buy boy things! Wish I knew either way :-)
Have you named him yet? See, I'd like to do that too as we have names lined up, one for boy and one for girl, and I want to start calling them by their name!

i know Id regret it if i found out early as i like the surprise.
I loved being able to phone everyone and announce baby's arrival and the sex all together rather than just sit and wait for an already named baby to arrive.
Its personal choice though and i can understand the other side and that some want to know.
I have a feeling this one is a boy just like last time but my son wants a sister so one of us will have a shock lol

Well let's see...(this could be a long one, lol)
Baby number 1: Didn't really want to know, and 18 years ago it wasn't common practice to ask! however as baby was on the larger side I was having regular scans. At 34 weeks I was having a scan and the sonographer said ''Oooh, I can see it's bits!'' as I didn't like the idea of her knowing and not me, I looked at hubby and we both knew we wanted to know. I was sure it was going to be a boy, but it was a girl. Hubby was delighted as that was what he wanted..we spent the rest of the afternoon shopping for girly things :o)
Baby number 2: We decided we wanted to know, and at the 20 week scan I asked. Sonographer couldn't see much as baby had legs crossed! so we didn't find out. I guessed a boy, hubby guessed a girl. I was right..
Baby number 3: Mr P wasn't bothered about knowing, and I didn't mind either way..I asked at the 20 week scan, and the sonographer couldn't see...baby had legs crossed again! then the sonographer said that she ''Couldn't see any evidence of it being a boy''. I planned for a girl, and got one...lol
Baby number 4: This time I really wanted to know. Again, baby made it practically impossible to find out. A kidney problem was diagnosed at the 20 week scan, and my consultant told me that in ''99% of all cases this appears in boys'' however we were not convinced and were correct in our thoughts...we had another girl :o)
I have to add that knowing the gender didn't take away my surprise at all. In fact when I knew in my heart I was having a girl and was right, I still looked at her with wonder in a ''Hey, you!!!'' moment.
*ahhhhhh*

I am kind of glad that we weren't able to find out now, it's like the decision has been taken from me, although I knew if I hadn't have asked about it then I would be kicking myself now with "What if she could have told me?!". I got 2 scan pics where you can see their face, and a third one of a tiny little foot! And I must say it's a damn fine looking foot if ever I saw one :-D
Not that I have children or am pregnant but can I answer pleeeeeasse. I wouldnt want to find out, it is like opening presents early and getting no suprise on the day. Its always nice to have some news rather than yes we had her. All you can say is how much they weighed and I;ve never quite understood why they do that, tell the world when you're born something you hide for the rest of your life. lol
