My husband is a builder he has a skip outside a house which he has filled with builders rubbish from the house. people in the street have put there own rubbish in the skip and today with the high winds something has blown from the skip into a car windscreen. Whos insurance is lible
Assuming its someone else's rubbish and they didnt have permission to leave it there then I cant see how he'd be responsible. It would be like someone dumping rubbish in your garden then it blowing away and causing damage, it wouldnt be your fault would it? Doesnt sound very logical.
Can he actually show that it wasnt his rubbish though?
Many thanks my husband phoned his insurance and yes it is an act of god The person in question was not to happy having to claim from his home insurance, but he told my husband that he actually put rubbish on the skip as well. thanks again
