selling on ebay

ive recently started selling off all my unwanted items from around the house and have been pleasantly surprised at how much money ive made.
i'm now addicted to ebay selling but have unfortuately run out of things to sell.
what would be good items that i could buy from carboots, markets, jumble sales, charity shops etc that i could then sell on at a profit. what sort of things are going to get people fighting and outbidding each other?

Have you tried asking your nearest and dearest for their unwanted items to sell?

I've bought the odd thing from a car boot and sold it on ebay. I usually find brand name goods sell well.
I bought a brand new pair of ladies shoes for �3 and sold them for �25. I also bought a pair of Levi's for �2.50 and sold them for �14.
I've also made a fair profit on old postcards (WW1) I bought for pennies, and old books.

If you are going to become a "trader" - buying items to sell them - then you will

1. Have to register your business with HM Revenue and Customs

2. Have to change your ebay designation from a "privatwe" seller to a "Business" seller.

I have never used ebay, but have a vase called "The Drunken Brickbuilders Vase"
I bought it for 50pence a few years ago, in perfect condition.
Anyone got ideas how much it is worth.

My father-in-law did what you've done, started selling off his own stuff then when he'd sold all he wanted to from his house he started visiting car boot sales, jumble sales and charity shops. It was a bit hit and miss to start with but found that football shirts and specialist books (about pets or woodwork or crafts etc) sold well. I've had a few successes, a board game about rugby that I bought for �1.50 and sold for �26 (it was when the rugby world cup was on!) and a pre-war travel guide for Guernsey which I bought for 50p and sold for �45! Obviously things you come across in charity shop after charity shop aren't going to sell very well but I'm sure you'd get a feel for it after a while.

Usually best to go with what you know - if you are interested in a category, writing an enthusiastic listing is easier! You may be surprised at the things people buy on ebay, not just good, newish stuff but used tatty stuff too - there's no accounting for folks!
Checking out the completed auctions is really worth it, pick a category and see which items have fetched the most. Don't forget to check out the "want it now" as well.
These days I check everything, even packaging from a toy I was given as a child sold!

You could come round to my house and take away half the contents and sell it for 50% of the profit. I could sell 90% of the kids things and they wouldn't even notice - that is if I could be bothered combing through 30 crates of toys to match things up to sell!!!! - No joke - I put 5 crates of their toys into the garage before a party nearly 3 years ago and they haven't missed them. I took a crate of wooden toy train set stuff over to my neighbours little boy last summer and they haven't noticed yet. I think they are spoiled myself - I blame santa.

I' in the market for a pewter drunken bricklayer vase ...so I will look out for yours on e-bay.
What size is it ?
The smaller 9" vase in your color way ..sell for about �200 ish ...

Hi I am in the same boat as you yes you can go to chairty shops and look for clothes coffee mugs toys and other stuff that you may want to buy
