Concern over levels of forced marriages

Figures have shown that hundreds of pupils from ethnic minorities are being taken out of school and forced into marriages abroad. The new report shows that many children have disappeared from school registers. Local councils are adamant that the missing pupils are not likely to have been forced into marriages, but government officials want them to dig deeper. What do you think? Is this something that needs to be taken a lot more seriously? How can we fight this kind of thing?

Well if you let thousands of people from "third world" countries, and thousands of people who support fanatical religions, come here what do you expect.

Thanks to unrestricted immigration we now have forced marriages, so called honour killings, militant terrorist muslims, fatwahs (death) to non-muslims, human sacrifice, rampant gun crime and much more.

There is not much we can do because these attitudes are ingrained into some of these cultures and it will take decades for it to reduce.
And if any of you think I have gone over the top by mentioning human sacrifice read this:

Its here, happening in our so-called civilized country.

Too true.

Only last week on the bus, a group of Muslim terrorists and gun-toting Yardies killed everyone, ate their remains and then used the bones of the recently killed as xylophones...and then danced a jig whilst shouting "Allah is great".

No-one did anything.

It's political correctness gone mad.

My grandad died in the war...and he'd roll over in his grave if he saw what had happened to this once proud nation.

He wasn't a soldier...he was a blackmarketeer who got run over by a tram in Piccadilly.
It *IS* taken seriously.

The Foreign office set up a dedicated unit 8 years ago.

Of course this is exactly the sort of thinh Human rights legislation is there for.

The same Human Rights legislation that so many people here want to see scrapped!
Why is this just being publicised now? I grew up in Leicester and we knew that this was going on there back in the 80's. This is just some politician trying to earn brownie points with the voting public by tugging on some heart strings.
Maybe a simple solution would be to make it law to register with the local authority the foreign marriage of anyone under the age of eighteen.

If it's an arranged marriage, there shouldn't be a problem and the girl or boy involved could be registered along with their parents. If it's an illegal, forced marriage and the girl/boy isn't registered, then the parents could be prosecuted at a later date.
When Jerry Lee Lewis brought his 13 year old bride to Britain years ago there was outrage.

Why is the husband not arrested when they try to enter Britain and put on the paedophile register which is what would happen to anyone other than a muslim. The law of the land is the law of the land and sex under 16 is an offence.

We must not have one rule for muslims and one for everyone else as this is divisive and causes tensions.

Surely the husbands will be stuck on sexual offenders register if they step foot into the country with a 14 year old bride, do they ever return - or are muslims exempt from being labelled as paedos?
That's ok, just let these ethnic minority pupils leave the country to get married, just don't let them back into this country ever again, it's not our problem.
This is sadly another imported menace that costs us money and manpower to deal with. I hate the idea that there are any people forced into marriage around the globe but we may as well help the ones going on under our noses.
First of all, zero tolerance. If an under 18 year old female (or male) goes missing from the system, the authorities should dig deep until they get to speak to her alone, in person. If the parents drag their heels, are unhelpful or simply refuse to reveal her whereabouts, arrest them for suspected murder and give them no bail. They'll soon come to their senses if old Ma Khan is stuck in a remand cell with dykes and dirty infidels.
The thing to remember is that under 18's are children, they are vulnerable and they have every right to a happy and safe existence. If the parents can't accept the concept of freedom in our society, they must be robbed of theirs. It will also act as a powerful deterent to any other "loving" parent thinking of in essence, pimping their offspring out.

Each and every one of these cases of children going missing should be investigated thoroughly. I am a British born white person and I am damned sure that had one of my children disappeared before they left school, the police would have been on my doorstep asking questions. Why should it be any different for Asians? We all know that it is happening, and it must be stopped. I have two cousins who work in a womens refuge. This refuge has got a lot of asian women who are fleeing from violence. Not just from husbands, but from their parents and brothers who believe that these women have dishonoured them. These women need our help. But once again, the fear of upsetting and offending an ethnic minority will prevent the authorities from doing anything meaningful to stop it. There are already community leaders issuing statement s of denial and claiming to be offended by these accusations. Well I say tough!!!!
Stop authorities doing anything?

What about the very refuges you are talking about?

There has been a dedicated team at the Foreign office for 8 years who can stop visas for "Husbands" in such cases and help in many other ways

There was a forced marriages act last year

Not doing anything? Where do you get these ideas from?

dont understand why the government allow muslims living in this country with much less restrictions than those well educated chinese students who are working and studying very hard here.
