Being a keen watcher of sky tv, not a speeding motor cyclist! I have noticed that the police on motorcycles often exceed 125Mph in order to catch up with the "offender" who is only doing 100 Mph, WITHOUT BLUE LIGHTS! should this not be classed as a drangerous riding offence? Did i mention I'm not a speeding motor cyclist?

So the Inoccent / Offender is only doing 100 MPH....

The Cops need to catch up with them 125 MPH .

Take a Guess why the cops need to do 125 MPH????

Is it Dangerous driving?????

The cops are trained in high speed Stuff.

Guess what ...The person ONLY oing 100 MPH is a Nutter

But you kill them on the Nurburg, thats the problem. They say they are trained, but they are NOT! so the problem still exists 125 MPH is a lot more of a NUTTER than 100

Simple mathematics!
Dinsdale - if a car overtakes you at 100 mph and gains 500 yards, you accelerating to 100mph will only maintain the 500 yard gap.

You have to go faster to close the gap, catch up and overtake.
Hi Ethel

Dont think you will ever convince dinsdale on this one .

100 MPH V 125MPH .

Catch up is not in the lodgic stuff ...

Maybe helecopters would make more sence but doubt it.

LOL.
I don't think Dinsdale is disputing that a mororcycle would need to do 125mph to catch up with one doing 100mph. Isn't his question more to do with that fact that the Police are doing 125mph in the first place. I think he's trying to say that instead of one dangerous motorcyclist (doing 100mph), there would be two potentially dangerous motorcyclists. Therefore, indicating that he thinks it would be better if the Police didn't pursue and the first motorcyclist was left to cause havoc on whatever road he chose to ride on !!

By the way, Police motorcyclists ARE highly trained and are usually involved in bike clubs etc in their own time. It's the PC's who are passionate about bikes who end up working with them in their traffic depts.

"Walking on the moon" was my favourite...
should the "PolicE" receive "notice of inteneded " .... prosecution........ if "flashed 2 , threu a SPEED CAMERA...al the Police do is ........back date a "change of ownwersdship " thrun DVLA..... on the Motorcycle.......details...
Until my suggestion of machine-guns on police motorcycle headlights goes through parliaments, then police are going to have to break the speed limit.
I think the question is more are they allowed to speed without their blue lights on. I have been told that they are allowed to speed if they are on official police business i.e. blue lights on and chasing someone but if they are not in pursuit then they have to obey the speed limits the same as everyone else otherwise they can get done for speeding.

I am guessing that they need their lights on to make it official otherwise they themselves are breaking the speed limit
