What does P N C check mean when police stop a motorist

PNC is the Police National Computer. So it means the police are running the details of your car and or the details (i.e. your name and address) hyou give them through the computer to see if everything checks out. I.e. that the car is taxed, insured, hasnt been reported stolen, and that the details you give are not fake ones and you are not wanted for anything..
