death of a child...?

hi a year ago a friends child passed away unexpectidly he was at home with his step father when it happened he reached the hospital but then died from fitting and going into a coma, the police have took the second child into care and a year on there still arent any clues of when the body will be released? the parents have been arrested on a couple of occassions but then let go without charge does any1 no how ling they are allowed to carry this on for? thanks

best person to ask is surely their solicitor who should be working to get answers as quickly as possible so as to reunite the family if they are innocent of all blame.

It wont have been the police that put the opther child in care but social services. I would expect there to be some sort of liason officer attributed to the family as well that they can talk to.
