No idea what the country fa is but if your CRB check is to be an enhanced one, yes it will

Yes it would. Working with under 12s means an enhanced CRB check.

I thought it would but does anyone know if the crb will be given and would they still be able to train the kids as he has already been doing it for two years the crb checks have only just come into force
Depends on their rules about employing people with previous convictions or particular convictions.

Has he ever been asked to disclose anything previously of his own free will?

It may make things difficult if he's been asked before, be it on an application form or other paperwork etc... and has not disclosed due to the dishonesty.

Similarly if there are any rules in place that mean he should have disclosed it of his own free will.

Could he approach his bosses before the check is done or the results come back and be honest and explain if it's definite it will come up on the CRB check?

What were the circumstances of the assault?

i somehow feel that parents of young children arent going to want to have someone who is a onvicted criminal in charge of their children, and i fear that whoever the person is will lose their position

he wasnt sent to prison or anything just bound over to keep the pease for 2 years and fined
