Set Aside a Bankrupty Demand
I 1st asked about this on 8th January where a company who had bought our debt from MBNA. The debt was originally 8000 and although we have paid them back over 11,000.00, they were saying that the debt still stood at 7,700.00. We attended court this morning and the Judge said that using this way of obtaining money was "an inappropriate use of the law". His exact words. He granted our application and told the Respondent's solicitor that he had to prove to him that the debt was owed by us. The solicitor then asked the judge to grant an order to make MBNA release the details of our account to them. The judge told him "very politely"!!! he wasn't there to do their work for them. So it just shows you what these companies are up to, putting the fear of god into people. I bet they probably bully people into paying up 3 times out of 10. So the moral of the story is, Go To Court. You will have no chance if you don't.
