can anyone tell me whether this sort of post on a website is breaking any laws in particular, and is there any particular authority I should report it to?

If your user name is anonymous there can be no threat as there is no chance of that threat being carried out.
As for 'making your life on here hell' that doesn't mean anything at all.
If you can be identified by the person making the threat to track you down then yes, report it to the police.

report it dot.haukes then copy and paste the txt and SAVE IT. Ast the ed to save the text and check the USERS account as the ed can chek to see if its in the hstory for that user or a clone.

you could email the ed who may look at the ip addresses and personal details of the username "knobbynonut5" the Ed will also have records of the threads as well.

yes there are, the police could go and ask legend in tenerife who his mate knobby is and where he lives, and if legend refused he would be interfering with the police in their enquiries. and as i know legend's name they will be able to find fhim of course.

I also know your name , but exactly what that has to do with this is nothing at all.
If you think for one minute the editor will do anything even if that is knobby you are mistaken.I had a conversation with the editor on the phone when john lambert /4gs posted on here he was going to come to tenerife and kill me.The editor banned him , not pemanantly tho , and he was straight back,all the facebook /cb users know this as fact btw.
As for asking me where he stays i know less than you , as i havent asked him and dont have his address.
The police would enjoy it here tho as its 75 degrees at the moment.
