GBH?

My boyfriend dopped me off to college one morning and as he was going back to his car he had a fight with a group of (3) boys in which one of them got wounded and the other stabbed, the knife that was used is not my boyfriends but the other boys are saying it is not theirs either, my boyfriend used the knife for self defence..

What i dont understand is why is his court being canceled to a later date? His been in prison for 3 months and the court was this week and has been canceled to july?

What is the likely sentence for him?

I dont know whether it is section 18 or 20, i havent had a chance to speak to him properly about what is going on but his sister is convinced that he will be out soon after this court in july?..

But what are the chances in both situations

I understand the seriousness of a knife being used but it was self defence because he was alone and the knife is not his and one of the boys have a bad record regarding a knife from before surely people can figure out who's what in this situation right?..

Well if he is convicted of GBH then he certainly won't be out soon after the court in July, he stabbed someone!

If the fight was outside a college then surely there must be some witnesses to back up your friend's statements?????

He has got a witness that saw what happened whcih can say that it was self defence as he was attack by more than two people..

When he is sentenced will the time that his had inside be excluded from the sentence or will it be starting from that day that his sentenced?
For example if he is given 5 years in july this would mean his been in prison for 7 months, so will it be 5years and 7months or is the 7months excluded from the sentence which would be 4years 5months?

His time on remand will come of his sentence.

My daughters friend got stabbed and the blade left in him. The person who done it got two years. That was because of the circumstances....he went to this person house in a aggressive manner. They took that into consideration.
