I'm 20 and when I was in school at about the age of 16, was taught in PSE lessons that the age of consent for sex is 14 for boys and 16 for girls in Wales/UK... but I'm being told that this isn't so now and NEVER WAS. I was always against the idea, especially that the age for boys was so young... and I remember having debates about it in class. Was I taught wrong? Was it ever 14 for boys, or was my teacher telling us the wrong thing?

If the ages of consent for males and females were different, the European Union would be down on us like a ton of bricks ... equality, and all that.
emma, this was taught to me also. Usually it's the otherway round now, 14 and 16... They need neutering - parasites....
It used to be the law that a boy of under 14 was deemed incapable of being the active principal in a case of rape.. He could be convicted as a principal by way of aiding and abetting but not of the act itself.Eventually the law caught up with real life and earlier puberty!
it is 16 right across the uk
... but only 13 if you are talking about sheep...
