My son has had a Hotmail account for many years and went to sign into the account this morning and it says that the password is not recognised. Normally he stays signed in so he does not have to put in either the id or password. So over the years he has forgotton the password. When we went onto Hotmail Q&A they asked for an answer to the secret question and again my teenage son has forgotten it. We have asked for the details to be sent to the alternative email address held (which we thought was mine) and nothing has arrived so therefore where do we go from here. Cannot find where (if possible) we can speak to someone at Hotmail to ask for another secret question or something. Anyone got any ideas please.
if you have forgotten the password, the secret question and you don't know what email address is set as the alternative one then you may have no choice other than to simply ditch that hotmail account and setup a new one.
As it stands you have no way of proving to anyone that it is your hotmail account and if they just gave out passwords to accounts with no proof then people would be hijacking others hotmail accounts left right and centre!
