Get more Ram---What does it mean?

My computer has been a bit slow of late, bt desktop came up and I ran a check and it says my system has a problem and I ran that and now it says that I need to get more RAM I don't have the foggiest idea what this means , can anyone help? If possible, please explain what I have to do and, in simple English please, as I am not computer literate, thankyou very much, Regards.Joddington

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.RAM stands for Random Access Memory, and it's also known as your computer's Short Term memory. If you don't mind fiddling about with your computer's innards, it's a straightforward job, but, if you don't fancy doing that, ask a local computer expert to do it for you. Tell him to install more memory. He will find out exactly how much extra memory your computer can take, and he'll do the job for you. I got a local PC expert to do it for me, plus a repair job, and everything now is running fine.
