What is the minimum amount of rent...
That can be charged?
At the moment my cousin lives with my Grandad rent free. He's very poorly at the moment. My Aunty, who deals with all his financial affairs has said that if he passes away she'll have to pay rent. Aunt said at the minimum amount but we don't know what that is.
btw...her paying rent is not an issue...she'd be happy to do so.

I suppose it's not straight forward. Nans in a care home that he pays for...she has dementia. If she out lives him then all his assets obviously will go to pay for her care until the day that she passes. Because their house won't be sold until after her death apparently in the mean time rent has to be charged.
I know nothing...

As others have indicated, there's no statutory minimum rent.
However the maximum amount of Local Housing Allowance (formerly 'Housing Benefit') payable to those with very limited means is a good approximation to the lower end of private rentals charged in a particular area. The maximum LHA figures will be reduced as of April. See the right-hand set of columns for projections of what they're likely to be. (The figures are 'per week'):
