Gift Voucher
I was given a Flex e Voucher for £ 45 , to spend in a particular shopping centre .
I didn't realise that it had an expiry date untill after it had reached the expiry date
I have contacted the customer relations Dept for Flex e voucher and asked them to extend the expiry date .
They will do this but it will cost me £ 9.95 , reducing the value of the voucher by this amount .
I have asked them to waive this fee , giving them my reasons .
They have considered it and say they have referred my request to the Management of the shopping centre .
They have now advise me that the fee will not be waived .
They have advised me that i can make a complaint to the card issuer - Newcastle Building Society .
However I feel that I wont get anywhere with a complaint .
What does the law say about this ?
Should i just accept the fee

The lousy product he is referring to DOES NOT have terms and conditions, nor an expiry date on it. It simply says "expires 12 months from issue" on it. You would have thought that with such a high tech gift voucher, they would have thought up some way of putting the actual expiry date on it. I have dealt with Flex E Vouchers and have been denied all of my gift. As a result, I feel that their institution stinks and so does any endorser of their services. How much money must they be stealing every year on the basis of exploiting other people's gifts?
I agree with Profjekyll.
My wife has just discovered that her Flex-e-voucher has expired since it also did not have a start or end date on it. Having spoken with staff at Brent Cross Shopping Centre it seems that Flex-e-vouchers treat complainants like naughty school children asking what seems like impertinent questions about why the card has not been used within the "valid period" etc. I for one would try to discourage anyone from purchasing these cards as a gift. Better to give money which does not suddenly vanish at a certain date.
