I presume that you no longer live at the ex landlords address. The landlord commits no crime by opening letters, to what after all is 'his' address.

Tampering with mail is only crime whilst the mail is in control of the Royal Mail, which it ceases to be once it is 'delivered'
no its against the law to do that....definately! he should just write 'not at this address' and return in the post if he doesn't have your forwaring address. Good luck he sounds like an ****
so what happens when someone elses mail gets delivered to your address by mistake, is it against the law to open it then?
