I watched the programme and was sickened by the behaviour of some NHS employees in the episode. They were rude , aggressive , bullying and negligent, as well as often being morbidly obese.
The NHS has a problems, and many of these are caused often the poor quality of personnel they employ as nurses. No wonder people choose to go to Dignitas if they can afford it.
Before anyone jumps down my throat , I accept that there are some very good and empathetic nurses , and that this was a documentary based on snapshot events and probably tailored to shock.
However it did occur to me that nurses are not badly paid, and that there are many many carers in say residential homes, getting minimum wages who would appear to be able to work with the sick and elderly in a way which does not demean their residents.
It is not acceptable in my view to lay the blame for a bad attitude on having to meet Gov targets.!!!
