I still think she was bumped off by the establishment. In fact James Whittaker said last night that the Queen didn't like Diana and then went onto say if you are not born into the Royal Family it is very hard to adapt to their lifestyle. If the Windsors don't like someone, they get rid of them. (:0(
neti - thats true, but Diana was very popular, in a way that Fergie could never be. I honestly think the Queen was jealous of Diana, in fact it did hint at that in the programme last night.
Diana didn't understand the game, that's my view, I know not everyone thinks the same - but she thought that Charles loved her, rather than had a duty to reproduce.
Your right Boxy - Diana wanted to be loved, which obviously Charles couldn't do, because he had Camilla in his bed They said last night on the programme that Diana brought height back into the Royal family. She was obviously chosen for her genetics and also she didn't have a 'past' that would come back to haunt them.
I do agree Den - she was elegant, virginal, attractive and of a good lineage. An ideal match, but she was also very naive at the time of the wedding, IMO.
Personally (although I would not have wished the tragedy) I am glad that Charles and Camilla are now together officially - she was not of the right stuff at the time he needed to marry, but they should have married in the first place, and saved everyone a lot of heartache in later years.
They also passed a law making it a criminal offense to obtain DNA from a member or the Royal family. Could this be anything to do with Harry not looking like a Spencer or Windsor?
