Anyone know this movie possibily set in the 40s or 50s?

A movie possibily set in the 40s or 50s.
All I can remember from the short scene i saw was a young gentleman in a room. camera mostly facing the window. The man awakes to then tranform his small room from a bedroom into a kitchen come lounge, maybe a musical? All I have i'm afraid. but really hope this jogs someones memory.

I think Gene Kelly pulls out tables and chairs and things in "An American in Paris". The camera is mostly facing out towards the city, Eiffel Tower etc.

That may just be it..... I shall now consult youtube.Thanks for taking the time to answer. He transforms it by if I remember, dancing around and simply just pushing tables into cupboards. Now off to check.... :-)
