It is an Equinox tonight, and thus I will be testing a myth:

You can stand an egg on it's end during the equinox.

Anyone ever tried this before or got any pro-tips for me?

Thanks in advance.

This was featured in a drama i watched, where the actress tells her colleagues she had seen it done, but no one believed her, and of course she did it, but they weren't there to see. I think they just stuck it the table, but i'm a sceptic.
No tips, but suggest getting some glue
I haven't looked at the link - is it heavier at the fat end, rather than the pointy end, and why can't you do this any time?
Is it because of eggmatic forces,
blu-tack

or glue
blu tak
*other sticky thingys are available*
Lol I just tried to stand ON an egg on it's end, and can safely say no you can't- must read posts properly.
make a small pile of salt and rest the blunt end in it so the egg stands upright then gently blow the salt from around the base of the egg it will stay upright...
If you use glue, you'll never get it off the table again, Ed - the shell will crack when you try to move it, you'll be left with a table-omelette.

On the pointy end.

I will be trying this, even if no-one else does.

Surely an egg, if anything, is LIGHTER at the fat end, because that's there the air sac is.
might work pointy end down just start with more salt....

Are you telling me none of you have ever made an egg stand on its end without cheating?
Aha - can we cook it first?
It aint gonna happen!!!

"Aha - can we cook it first?"

Not sure. I think this might be cheating.

I'll take some photos when I do it this evening. It's a friend's birthday meal so I think this will be the perfect party game.
i have - using my mental powers
I think one could try it, but frankly i wouldn't hold out much hope of success.
they did the salt trick on How many years ago
