I just read that Betty Driver (Betty Turpin of Corrie) has died at the grand age of
91.
She was a very good actress and when I used to watch Corrie years ago she was one of my favourite characters.
RIP, haven't seen the news, will look in a minute, yes 91 is a great age, but she was the stalwart of orrie, and she was a famous singer before she lost her voice, she will be missed. Hope ITV do programme on her
Yes Boxtops-she has been in Corrie this years-she appeared every few months-she had storyline last year-the oldest barmaid in Weatherfield but rude woman turned up and said she was-it was funny
I bet it will still be Betty's Hotpot, it has to be, doesn't it?
only she knew the recipe, saw her life story not so long ago, her Mother was a real nasty piece to her
RIP Betty
Very sad news. She'd been in show biz from a child, and even had her own show.
There are some great clips on YouTube of her singing in the movies as a very attractive young woman.
She was on desert island discs a couple of months back, she had a hard life, her parents never showed her any love, and she was done the dirty by her husband too, I only hope she could take solace in the fact that she was well loved by her fellow actors she worked with and the public of course.
RIP Betty love.
