Matte v. Glossy TV screens
12 Answers
Can anybody recommend a 40 - 42" tv with MATTE screen? I've tried this question in the various high street retail outlets but can't really get any sense out of the staff. i.e. what do you want a matte screen for, they are nearly all shiny glossy finish now, etc.
I've tried checking the product websites but they often fail to mention whether the screen is matte or glossy.

Zacs-Master. LOL, that's just the sort of comment I've had from sales staff...you could get a job at C*m*t or C*rr*s Joking apart, laptops are available with matte or glossy screens. TV's are generally shiny/glossy...matte ones are available but I'm not finding it easy tracking down the matte ones due to lack of product information on websites, hence my question. The difference is that shiny screens are prone to picking up reflections from other light sources or windows in the room, matte screens help to subdue the effect where there are light sources behind the viewer. Understand now?
