Your life really does matter?

How you live your life really does matter. It will mean for you either a happy future or a miserable one.
As a matter of fact, the more we pursue our studies, the less are we impressed by the dates which initially filled us with respect. We begin to recognize the framework of chronological history for what it is—a purely hypothetical structure, and one which threatens to come apart at every point. Crooked and tottering, it gives us a picture of a strangely arbitrary history, while at the same time our instinct tells us that the ancient civilizations must have had some sort of reasonable and organic growth. When we reach this point in our studies we begin to be doubtful of every single date!

It depends on how go about it.
Even your first sentence is not original
HOW YOU live your life really does matter. It will mean for you either a happy future or a miserable one. Eventually it will determine whether you pass away with this world or survive its end into God’s righteous new world where you can live forever.—1 John 2:17; 2 Peter 3:13.

Shangi, I don't think anyone has any instinctive information about ancient civilisations. Instincts are responses to the environment that are built into our nervous systems. If by 'instinct' you mean 'gut feelings' or 'vague impressions', well ancient civilisations would hardly have come into existence without growing 'organically' so what is your point? My guess is something to do with god? Please tell me I'm wrong.
Matter to whom? I presume you're getting at a deep or spiritul meaning. As far as I'm concerned I'm here as a result of a series of coincidences, and following basic instincts, as we all have to, my primary concern is to survive within the society I find myself. If I can avoid harming others along the way all to the good.
I'm certainly not arrogant enough to consider myself special or that my life beyond my family and friends has any deeper meaning. Why not say in your own words exactly what you mean, then maybe, just maybe, this could be discussed sensibly.
