Can we take a step back? Do you own a TV? Presumably not judging by your upset? Have you told the authority that you don't have a TV? Are you frustrated at your repeated attempts to convince them you don't own a TV? I'm guessing this is the case. If the above is the scenario then I am sure there is plenty of advice that can be given. At the moment it just looks like you've...

No they're not. It says they're making sure you have information for IF you need to attend court.
Do you have a current TV licence? If not it's possible you may prevent this going to court by purchasing one at your earliest opportunity, as indicated on the bottom of the letter you've received.

If you believe there's been a misunderstanding you'd be wise to phone them a.s.a.p. in order to prevent a court appearance.

1st and 2nd line

>>We want to ensure you have the information you may need before a hearing is set at your local court <<
Yes, neither that first or second line says you're actually going to court though.

I don't pay a TV license as we have no signal here. We filled in the thing online saying so, a fella came round and job done. Not heard a peep from them and not expecting to until the same time this year.
Don't forget to wear a tie and brush your hair on the big day ;-p

DrFilth,

Read your own post: '.....BEFORE a hearing is set at a local court......'.

Call them a.s.a.p., I'm sure they'll understand if there's been an oversight on your part.

Hello again DrF, I know this is a long running saga and must grind you down at times, but do not let it affect your health. If you are happy that all the information supplied is sound then let them try it on in court.

I know what I would do, but am sure you will disagree, they could happily pop by whenever to check my property but I would charge them an entrance fee each time.

mamyalynne never let them get to you because they never get to me :)
Glad to hear it.
China Doll says "neither that first or second line says you're actually going to court though"

Yes it does.

It says "before a hearing is set".

It doesn't say if, or in case, a hearing is set.

It says BEFORE, which means it's going to happen.
mamyalynne says "they could happily pop by whenever to check my property"

You would let a, possibly unvetted, stranger into your home?
