Just realised why Hubby is depressed - the races apparently are not being shown on mainstream TV this season - just on SkySports which means an extra costly subscription which we can''t afford (we have Sky but only the basic package as we hardly watch anything) Is this right folks? He is gutted .... but I get my Sunday afternoons back :))

The BBC have the rights to show 6 races I believe.

the BBc are still showing some of the races

You'll have to share your sunday afternoons :)
Half of your Sundays Ann86, the BBC still has some live races. It may be of interest to him indoors that you don't have to subscribe to a sports package but just upgrade to HD+ for about a tenner extra (that's what I'm currently negotiating for with Mrs 9401)
^ and broadcasting extended highlights of the other races.

If you search online there are sites where you can watch the new Sky F1 channel online for free ;-p

Can you give me a link for those please snags? Thanks it sounds interesting:)

Thanks to you all for the info - I have printed it all off for him ...... he thought he wouldn't be able to see any so its cheered him up a bit :) Apparently he said they announced it was being done "to protect their Wimbledon coverage - shown on two channels BBC1 and BBC2" - as we hate Wimbledon fortnight and avoid it at all costs (every one to his own I suppose) THAT announcement really wound him up!!

Yeah, nice one Bernie you greedy b***ard! This will end up worse than when ITV had the rights to F1.

Will Sky be showing the race in its entirety, uninterrupted, or will they be showing ads like they did during the race when shown on ITV?
I would put money on Sky having all of the races next season and I for one wont be getting Sky just to watch.
It's a ploy between the breweries and sky to get pubs back on their feet

Its so annoying isn't it - I hope the viewing figures go down now its on Sky, it would serve them right!
That's because F1 is sooooooo dull.

Thanks for the links - may try it on Sunday for the first race!
MotoGp rools OK JJ ??

:+)
Oh I can't wait! I've had The Chain stuck in my head all day! Lol!

I'm gutted Sky have stolen it. The first season in 4 years that I haven't worked Sundays and we're only getting half the races! That's bad karma right there!!
He'll watch it in the pub
It is only free if you have sky HD for this year , I bet 1,000 to 1 they will charge extra for the Sky Sports F1 channel next year ! And it is £10 A MONTH not just a one off £10 to upgrade to Sky HD so that is an extra £120 a year, I have Virgin media HD with sky sports included anyone know if this will get F1 ?
