Hi all,
i posted this before, got no answer, but netflix is getting more customers, so someone may have the same problem. Netflix films seem to all come in widescreen. My LCD television plays netflix films as widescreen in the middle of the TV screen, using about a third of the screen, very annoying and difficult to watch. anyone know if I can widen the picture to use all the screen?
Thanks,
Percy.

Shall we guess the exact equipment you use to view the films?

well, you can try a guess, and you would probably get it right. desktop computer running windows XP, a LG 40" TV, three years old, with pip and all the bells and whistles. I am using a lead from the monitor output on the computer to the RGB input on the TV. thats it for the connections, I have tried altering the TV settings, but it makes no difference.

I'd doubt it's a TV setting, more likely a computer one.

Does the computers desktop show full (wide) screen when you view that on the TV?
Pressed submit too early...

If the desktop doesn't show properly make sure the resolution on the computer is set to match the resolution of the TV, so if it's a full 1080p TV set the screen resolution on the computer to 1920*1080.
