perhaps some that are on in cinema, are popular and will make money don't get released that early, but others that aren't that good go to dvd quite quickly, i must admit i am not sure.
it varies, depending on the film. giant blockbuster will be released onto a dvd later than a less popular film. however, about six months is the maximum you have to wait for any film these days
As an example Sherlock Holmes 2 was in the cinema during January and the discs are released in the middle of May so a gap of 3 months. The Artist is due for release before the end of May which probably makes it slightly less than 3 months.
that is true, ojread2. if a film takes a dive at the american box office the distributors sometimes decide that a direct-to-dvd release in this country is the only option
Thanks for your answers.
I saw a trailer for a film starring Judi Dench called The Best Exotic Marilgold Hotel and it looks like the type of film I would enjoy but I don't like going to the cinema so hopefully I can buy it on DVD soon.
The Best Marigold Hotel, is a great film, i am sure that you will love it. - i did.
Another recommend would be Salomn Fishing in the Yemen, watched this last night, and again throughly enjoyied it. - Good film without Violence (rariety these days).
