Jackson was a pop artist and his private activities - unproven - are a separate issue which do not affect his talent as an artist, or the appeal of his music.

Boyle is a comedian - his comments are the basis of what he does - so you cannot divorce the offence of his material - that's why he is (in)famous.

even sick jokes can be funny if they are cleverly constructed and make you think or something, people are not laughing because the subject matter is hilarious and not a serious issue, but at the joke itself ... a joke about someone dying in a bizarre silly way doesnt mean you think death or people dying is funny...
same as laughing at someone who trips over in the street - it may look funny, but actually it isnt really - they could be hurt... but we still laugh...

....but sometimes its just thinly veiled lazy racism, homophbia etc disguised as a joke.

The Frankie Boyle I see on TV has never offended me, I have cringed though.

The only reason I am aware of how far he pushes the boundaries of decency is from the press and on here.

I don't attend his live shows, buy his DVDs or follow him on twitter. It seems to me you have to lash the cash to be offended or dig through the internet to find out why you might be offended.

I have worked out he has a reputation for taking things to the edge and often over, as have many comedians in the past.....and present.

He is first and foremost a human being and not a 'pop star' and I am of the opinion that human beings that prey on children are the scum of the earth.
You may doubt that Jackson was a possible paedophile but for me there is far too much evidence for me to think anything else other than he is a (or was)paedophile.

If people want to buy his music it is their choice of course but I would not feel comfortable doing so.
