During the long journey undertaken in my attempts to make today's hospital appointment I told every Tom, Dick and Harry that many years ago I had a really bad reaction to the dye used in this type of procedure.
Neither Tom, nor Dick, nor Harry passed on the information. I got as far as the cubicle and mentioned it again...well! Surprise, surprise.
I then had to wait til they "found" a doctor who could advise. Never can find a doctor in a hospital in my experience. Was I sure it wasn't just a panic attack? Imagine me panicking?
An hour later....perhaps they found my notes?.....and I was told I had had a very serious anywhatsit shock episode and they didn't want to risk it again. Would I like to come back another day? Shall we make it an AB outing and take a picnic? I did try to get them to go ahead with my two epi pens and some Piriton to hand but they weren't keen.
Still, Martin the radiologist and I have hit it off.....great sense of humour.
sibby.......LOL....true.
Took me about 10 mins to get to know how to turn the microwave on and then another ten minutes to work out the timer.....but i did it.
Sqad. Any more? Mishaps or appointments? If app. then they are sending me another when I get back from Ireland mid November. They must have another way of doing it?? I asked the doctor I saw and she said they would have a think about it. x
She should have gone to NY with youngest sister, sqad - a whole group of women on the loose, oh well that's their economy back in recession - but then there is the Marriott bar.............
Bad luck gness - minor miracle if they found your notes ... but better safe than anaphylactic. Bag of peanuts now to keep your strength up?
In other medical news - I have a tedious 'minor ear infection' and have to keep lying down so the antibiotic drops don't fall out and run down my jumper
