Is it possible that anybody could have heard of all these so called celebrities. My main point is the final anwser which was name a country that is surrounded by 5 other countries. This answer given was Congo which was wrong as it is a river Yet the quiz thought it was a country although it did not win. Too many mistakes from this quiz lately

Mmm, I'm beginning to think gollob has a point. Democratic Republic of Congo and Republic of Congo do differ so who claims the diminutive 'Congo'?

Congo is a country. It is a democratice republic in Africa
So Democratic Republic of Congo, commonly known as Congo (and other variations) was incorrect?
The Republic of Congo is a country.
that guy from the apprentice was a complete a$$hole.
I really enjoy Pointless - Richard is one of the wittiest men I've ever seen on TV - his comments are hilarious - he ranks up there with Stephen Fry.

Would love to invite Richard to dinner. Love his sense of humour, so understated.
You and me both Daisy - lets also invite Stephen Fry and umm ... Gerard Butler for dessert.
Viv what about the menu?
Food? You want food too? Didn't I just offer you a half share in Gerard Butler?
You never heard the saying "Life's short - eat dessert first"?
Congo IS a country, I'm afraid you're wrong on this one. I'd heard of those contestants, apart from Lembit's woman. (and I hadn't heard of Gerard Butler until the anagram thread earlier today)
He is completely gorgeous but do like to be hospitable. Perhaps drinks and nibbles Viv?
That Richard is very tall you know ladies.
Oh yes! It is so lovely to feel protected and dainty.

as I said earlier there is no country called Congo.
There is the Republic of The Congo and there is the Democratic Republic of the Congo but there is no country called "Congo" unless people like Ubasse know different.
Thought it was very funny when Lembit Öpik's partner said she was only 15 when they were voting for which city held the 2012 Olympics. His face was a picture!
That's a bit like arguing that Britain isn't acceptable as it should be Great Britian. The question setters clearly agreed what would be an acceptable answer and Congo was one.

Excelsior's link shows Congo and Democratic Republic of Congo. Countries which have Republic before their name tend to have it dropped when being referred to. Republic of Mali is in the news at the moment, being reported on as Mali.
