James is pulling Louis Smith's leg and he is bravely trying some fairly strange new (for him) foods. Poor soul even got food hell (squid) instead of food heaven (chicken) and then James showed him the beautifully cooked chicken and whisked it away again and made him eat the squid. What a nice young man!

oh no, have I missed Louis today woofy? That would have been food heaven and hell for me too.
I gave up watching Saturday Kitchen a few months ago.

Who on earth is Louis Smith?

Only saw a few minutes of it this morning at the start of the programme.

Olypic gold gymnastics medallist, he was on strictly too and won it with a stunning free dance...he seems both modest polite and normal...quite a change.

I am a james Martin fan
Oh, that's who he was! For some reason I thought he was in a boy band
Thanks woofie x

Is it just me who thinks that this progarmme is showing more clips from Rick Stein and Masterchef et al?

(Maybe I'm just grumpy on a Saturday morning)
Question Author
well yay and nay...yes I am not struck on the Rick Stein and masterchef bits so that's when i go and change the washing machine and make coffee.
James did give Louis the Jerk Chicken to take home.
Question Author

very dim in here - where have the avatars gone?
Looks like woofy's started the trifles, she's made the jellies already.
I'll get busy with the whipped cream....where's Louis?
Question Author
evening all....there is champers in the fridge and the kettle is over there :)
This champagne doesn't half go fizzy in the kettle.
Question Author
make the tea bags go all funny too
I'll have some champers please .In fact I'll have anything that's going:)
I hate to spoil the party but I've been to the doctors today about my back and she thinks I have (a) possible bulging disc or (b) muscle spasms. Anyway she's given me a short course of Diazepam . I'm not too keen but anything to get rid of this awful pain and be able to stand and walk for more than ten minutes before I'm near to tears. Have to see the physio too and she has said I'm tell them she wants me to try acupuncture.
James Martin can come and make my cheese on toast and cuppa soup anytime he likes.
Hope you're all ok.

shaney the bloke who used to do my household stuff had to give up work as a leccy shopfitter because of a bad back. He went onto diazepam and it put him back on his feet again. he said it was genuinely a life saver and meant he could get back to work. He came into a large inheritance a few years ago though and chucked up the DIY work.
I've known people improve with acupuncture, and some who didn't, but it must be worth a try. In fact I'd try anything. I hope something works.
So do I Jno.I'm at the end of my tether with it now.My mobility isn't good at the best of times but it's practically grinding to a halt atm. If I can get rid of ,or at least ease the back problem it would help enormously.
Thanks Woofy .I'm going to have to try the medication.Needs must the devil drives.
Bright day out there now after some sleety stuff ,still very cold though.Keep warm .

shaney, my nice man (and t'internet) says that you need to persevere. At first the meds may make you feel woozy or spacey...you need to give it a week or two if this happens and maybe talk to your doc about trying a reduced dose to start off with.
Hwy hey have you started without me?? Miserable day here. All decs done, just the huge tree now to do.
Mr N suffered badly from hip pain and had to drive from UK to Ibiza using his left foot only. He had back massages and she said she was training to do acupunture and would he risk it, well he braver than I, and he agreed. Within a short while he was feeling so much better and was able to do his work properly by kneeling again. He was like a new man it was amazing. Then once again in thr uk it hurt again and he went to someone and it ws awful, it hurt and made his back worse. He was glad to get back to his regular one. Mind you she went mad in the end!
