James is pulling Louis Smith's leg and he is bravely trying some fairly strange new (for him) foods. Poor soul even got food hell (squid) instead of food heaven (chicken) and then James showed him the beautifully cooked chicken and whisked it away again and made him eat the squid. What a nice young man!

Which is why I married a plumber.
Been rushing hither and thither as things to be righted in the town hall. Too long to go into but got it sorted surprisingly easily without too much red tape. Gosh its cold. No wfa hitting my bank. Just redoing the roast leftovers, takes longer and more pans than cooking from fresh!!

My goodness its lonely in here. It is also the coldest December in years. I love winter but hate cold extremities!

Just been out watching some lions feasting on baby giraffe. Now back at the lodge having buttered toast for breakfast.

I have some friends from here who have moved to Cambodia and opened a restaurant. It is supposesly a lovely country now.

Good evening...it's been a grey one here and about to get colder after a couple of milder days. I've just written all but a couple of my Christmas cards, the list gets shorter by the year.

I'm not feeling old today for a change. I had a lovely compliment from a younger man yesterday and I'm still high on it. Must be the new face slap :)

Sounds like a magical experience you're having jno. I don't like the grizzly aspects but that's survival in the wild.

Woofy sounds very cosy. We are due even colder weather and snow from tonight . The houses just arent made for the cold. Brrr i love my bed if only the cat would let me stay in it at night.

We did see a kill years ago, woofgang, a warthog, and of course the lions didn't really kill it, they just caught it and started eating it while it squealed. At least this time dinner was dead by the time we turned up.

Raining heavily here (it is the rainy season, which is why we got a cheap deal) so our drive this evening was called off. Ordinary beef for dinner, no rare or endangered species.
