All the suspects were in the church service, I reckon the one who stabbed him was ex prisoner officer Colin Hedges, as he had a fling with Yvonne Atkins.

All are present expect Fenner and Di. Viewers see Fenner getting weaker by the minute"Those candles are working",he makes an attempt to get to the door then....Someone stabs him in the neck over and over.But Who? Hmm I agree with  Lindy 66.

I had a feeling it could have been Officer Spiers but Hedges seems a better bet now that you've mentioned him!
