What is your favourite Laurel and Hardy Film and Short ?

I'm glad to see there's so many L & H fans out there. My kids love them too. There's not that much comedy that a 43 year old, a 10 and a 6 year old can all watch and laugh out loud at. Timeless stuff. Forgot about Them thar Hills and Tit for Tat - 2 of my other favourites.

IMHO some of the finest comedians that there has ever been. People often forget that these people were the first to create and film these kinds of routines, with Stan apparently writing extra jokes as they were filming. I also love Abbott & Costello, especially the famous "Who's on first" baseball sketch. Classic stuff.

Trying desperately not to snigger too loud at my desk in the office just remembering these wonderful timeless films from your posts... and then when I ever actually get to watch them again I'm just on the floor hurting with laughter... I  always loved "Laughing Gravy " a lot and thought it was under-rated - and another one whose title I can't remember, where they open as penniless buskers playing "In the Good Old Summertime" on a street corner in heavy winter snowdrifts...  :o)  Title, anyone..?  Much loved... Rest in peace, Stan and Ollie...

TommyC - that one is called 'below zero'. They find a wallet in the snow and treat a policeman to a meal. It turns out to be the policeman's wallet. Stan ends up being dunked in a barrel of water and drinks the whole lot.
